I understand that you are wondering if the functionality that changes a variable name in all Simulink blocks can also be used for Simscape blocks.
Yes, this functionality works for Simscape blocks as well. If you use the Model Explorer to rename a variable that is being used by a Simscape block, the variable will successfully be renamed in that block.
There is one limitation- the ability to right-click a variable name and select 'Explore Variable' is only available for Simulink blocks, not Simscape blocks. For renaming a variable found in a Simscape block, you can look up the variable by name using the Model Explorer's search functionality, then right-click and select 'Rename All...' as usual.
