The 10-bar truss optimization problem

Hello people,

I recently started working with Matlab and came across a problem with my code, if you have the time please take a look, Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Problem is attached I approched it by using Finite element method and got a 12*12 matrix which I would like to choose by using GA in Matlab, now I tried to write some sort of code with matlab but it is definily wrong cause I dont know how to write a matrix with unknown parameters being part of it.
