Fuzzy Logic for discrete variable

Hi Everyone! I have just started learning "Fuzzy Logic", I want to know whether it can be analysed for mapping a set of discrete input variables with a set of discrete output variables, with some predefined membership functions. Your suggestion will be highly appreciated.
