How to access a workspace variable from matlab app designer?

My matlab app contains a push button. in the callback function i have to access variables created in workspace.

when i tried to use the variable in callbackfunction i get the error :

undefined function or variable even though the variable defined in workspace.

Kindly help me with a solution.
