Problem reading an image file

If loading a jpeg file with Matlab Function "imread" (imread('name.jpg','jpg') the following error occurs:
Warning: Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x47 0x49
But in fact the image is shown correctly in other applications so I guess the file is not corrupted. Any ideas how to overcome this problem?
