Harmonic ratio from acceleration

Hi everybody, I am pretty new user of matlab and I have one work with it I have an accelerometer to analyse the walk: from acceleration in XYZ-axes I have to calculate some parameters. In particular harmonic ratio (that describe the gait smoothness). I just know I have to start appling Fourier Trasform and later find all valleys and peaks that will represent the "even" and "odd" amplitudes Harmonic Ration is Even/Odd. Anybody can help me with code for matlab for this work? Thank you :)
