How to calculate the distance between a pointCloud and a planeModel?

Hi There! I have got two objects. I have got a Planemodel that represents a plane with a certain orientation in a certain place like so:
plane = planeModel([0 0 1 1]);
as well as a pointCloud like so:
load('object3d.mat');
I'm looking for a way to calculate the distance between the plane and the points in the point cloud, where points on one side of the plane get a positive and the other side a negative distance.
