String valued attributes?

In Simulink, with the SimEvents library, is it possible to assign a string-valued attribute to each instance of an entity which are generated from an entity generator block?

I will be generating multiple types of entities, and I need to be able to identify each one during the simulation, ideally using attributes. I don't know of any way to give an entity a name. All I know is that I can assign them number-valued attributes.

Then once I can assign each entity a string-valued name, how would I access that name and identify the string?
