Controlling Matlab function with Arduino input

Hi,is there a way to trigger and /or control a Matlab function using analog or digital input from an Arduino Uno connected to my computer, in real time? I know one is able to load code onto the Arduino via the Simulink Support for Arduino Hardware, but can the Arduino input be written into Matlab code . It is used in a Control System Function . Thanks
