You need to detect the presence of buildings? Or you need to detect changes between pictures that indicate that there have been modifications to a building ?
If you need to detect the presence of buildings, then are you working with pictures of downtown Winnipeg, or are you working with pictures of yurts in the steppes of Mongolia, or are you working with infrared images of countryside trying to find hidden Cylon factories, or ... ?

Well the standard question that is always asked in this circumstance is: what have you done so far? What specific MATLAB problems are you stuck on? As it stands right now, we have no where near enough information to offer any assistance to you.
