How to check if two vectors of different length intersect?

I want to check if a straight line is touching a curve. I do not need to know the location of the possible intersections.
The straight line is made from two points, the start and the end point. While the curve is made up of hundreds of values. Both are defined by data in 2D.
I have looked into the intersect function, but it doesn't seem to apply to vectors with different length.
I could possibly make the straight line into hundreds of point and then look for the intersecting point. Is there an easier way to do this?
