I have a simulink model! when run independently I want to use a let'say sin wave as input for further analysis, and when run as referenced model I want it to get data from root-level input block! How can I do this?!

On the "Data Import/Export" tab of the configuration settings, specify "Input" values for all input ports in the "Load from workspace" section. These settings are used only when the model is simulated on it's own, but ignored when a used as a reference model inside another model.
