Needing assistance with Computer Vision System

I am currently conducting research using Computer Vision System to detect edge features on road lane striping. I would like assistance on using CVS to assess the quality of striping viewed on the uploaded image of road lanes. My current code reads the uploaded image, grey-scales, smoothed, and then filters it. However, I would like for it to also estimate with a percentage the amount of paint in the road lane.
