Does anyone know if there is a way to read .m files in google drive/docs without converting it to Google docs format. Are there plans by matlab to add a matlab App for google drive?
Thanks

From what I can tell, the Google drive is presented to the machine as another folder when you have the Google Drive application installed, and you can put whatever you want there.
So it seems if you install the Google Drive application and store your files in the folder, this should "just work"*
*unless you are expecting files to sync nearly instantly between machines. Given the architecture of Google Drive (and other similar services like Dropbox), there's a definite delay in the time it takes files to sync between devices. It's pretty quick for what it is, but it's by no means going to compete with using SMB/CIFS or NFS on a local server in terms of performance.

I am trying to read it from Google Drive web interface. You would think there would be a setting that allows Google to interpret certain extensions as .txt.
However, with the growing number of WebApps being developed for Drive it would be nice to have a Matlab plugin that maybe did more than just view .m files.

MathWorks does not release its development plans to the public. For information about what is or is not coming up, you need to talk to MathWorks sales.
