Right now I am using Fir2 function to generate fir filter that has the same gain and phase response as the given frequency response.

Fir2 function uses frequency sampling method to generate the filter coefficients. It samples the desired frequency response on a linear scale and estimates the coefficients using ifft. I am using logarithmic scales (audio processing), and fir2 is not giving me good response.

Is their anyway to convert the fir2 algorithm to sample on a log scale? Or are their any alternative algorithms in MATLAB?

Fir1 uses window method to calculate the filter coefficients. Window method also does not give me good results in lower frequencies.
