Required help on solving issue with Simscape multibody model
显示 更早的评论
Hi, I am Kanthaswamy from Trimble Navigation. Currently we are a group working with Simscape products for Earth machinery simulation
I currently face an issue with modifying the existing model of the contact force library example demonstrating a wheel rolling on a plane. I have just modified the size of the wheel and axles as per our requirement and find it difficult to resolve the issue. The issue being that the model is not translating in horizontal axis on the plane and rather is translating on vertical. Please help. Attaching herewith the model Regards, Kanthaswamy Ganapathy Ph.D.

What behavior were you expecting and what problem are you facing ?

I looked at your model and have emailed you a fixed version.
Here were some of the issues we discussed
- The size of the contact plane in the contact force blocks was too small.
- The contact stiffness and damping were much too small – I fixed this in the Model Workspace.
- The initial height of the wheels was wrong. This is set in the “Bushing Wheel” blocks.
- I adjusted the thickness of the “table” (Solid block in subsystem “Table”).
- I increased the magnitude of the torque.
With these changes, the model runs fine.
