J1939 simulink algorithm deployed in raspberrypi

Hello everybody,
I'm currently trying to interface a raspberrypi (I have a beagleboneblack too) with the onboard can system of a truck. I'm wondering if an algorithm made in matlab with j1939 simulink blocs can be generated as an embedded code in the raspberrypi?
I'm planning to interface the raspberry with the onboard network using a mcp2515 arduino CAN controller. If it is possible to deploy the code in the raspberry would it be able to handle the packets directly or should I create a CAN interface using SocketCAN?
