How to create 3D geometry from point cloud?

I have a set of (x,y,z) coordinates which form a point cloud. I want to create a 3D geometry using these points and later mesh it using, possibly generateMesh. What function should I use?

I tried using Delaunaytriangulation to obtain nodes and elements and then use them in geometryFromMesh, but the error stated that input is not in correct from.

Another option I thought of is alphaShape but it seemed too complicated. Can anyone please suggest some alternatives?
