Simulink load & save array during execution

In Simulink - Matlab function, how can I read values from an array then edit the values and save them again in the same array (override), during the execution of the Simulink? (update the array every time step)

I had the same issue. My solution was to:
- Stop the simulation
- Save the state of the Simulink model with the SimState functionality
- Rewrite the array
- Continue the simulation from the SimState saved before.
The SimState functionality acts as if the simulation never stopped, but it appeared to me that simulation must be stopped to change the array.
