How to reduce the image size(from 1.2 MB to KB)?

I have created 3D plot which is having a file size of 10MB (pdf format). This figure has to be embedded in my thesis which has file size limit of 10 MB. So i need a image file of lower size. i.e about in kb's. Is it possible to reduce the filesize of the image in matlab? kindly help. I have no other option.

You are trying to save the file in a vector graphics format. The vector graphics will try to save all the information contained in the original graphics object. If you don't care about the features of vector graphics (e.g. infinite resolution) then simply save your figure in some raster graphics file type like jpg or png. They will be very small in size.
