why parpool(n) does not work?

I am using most recent Matlab version, Matlab R2018a. I am trying to use parfor. When I first use parpool(4) it does not work and an error message is showing like this
Undefined function 'parpool' for input arguments of type 'double'.
Why is above error showing?
here is simple version what I am trying to work
parpool(4)
parfor i = 1:N
<my work>
end

Do you have Parallel Computing Toolbox installed? Check the output of
ver
and see if it appear in the list.
