creating an string array

ive a random string input and i want it indext in thress int an arry i can acsess later
.eg Array[1] = input(1:3)
gaining a out put of say ['qwe', 'igc', 'top']
then i want to acsess this as say
disp(Array[1])
qwe
please help i cannot figure out what im doing wrong?

Which programming language are you using? It does not appear to be MATLAB.
