using the command syms matlab does not work any more

Hi, Using the command "syms" matlab stops working. I have tried to reinstall matlab but i have always the same problem. The script is:
clear all close all clc
syms x
and at this point everything stops work.

there are some Problems since the Windows update regarding symbolic toolbox in 2017b & 2018a. See here:
Meanwhile there is an update to matlab - try this:
