Why is it that their is error in plotting a 2D plot?

I follow the sample code but I keep on getting error in plotting

Error in ==> mat1 at 3 plot (x,y)

I don't know what's wrong in the entry "plot (x,y)"?

You have a script called ‘plot.m’, apparently in your user directory. Rename your ‘plot.m’ script something different, such as ‘plot_data.m’.

How you do this depends on your operating system. In Windows, the easiest way may be to use File Explorer.
