Ubuntu版MAT​LABをsudo権限​で起動したい

Ubuntu14.04LTSでMATLABを動かしております。
sudo権限でMATLABを起動したいのですが、
$sudo matlab
を実行すると
License Manager Error -9 Your username does not match the username in the license file. To run MATLAB on this computer, you must run the Activation client to reactivate your license.
というエラーが表示され、起動しません。
恐らく、エンドユーザー名をインストール時にライセンス設定画面で設定したので、ライセンスとユーザー名がリンクされているものと思います。しかし、sudoで実行することで実行者がsudoとなってしまい、ライセンス認証でエラーとなってしまうのが問題だと思います。
これを回避する方法はあるのでしょうか。
