Is it possible the Simulink solver make the stable system unstable?

Hi, I have an inquiry about the solver. I'm simulating a microgrid system with using solver ode45 and the system is stable, but when I changed the solver to auto (continuous) the system becomes unstable. What does that mean? is it possible that the system is actually stable but choosing wrong solver make the system unstable?? Thanks

It can. For instance when you choose variable step, different solvers might use different step sizes and for large step sizes the solution to ODE might be wrong. This is related to stability of ODE or PDE, and you can learn more by simple google search.
