How can I align 2 identical images which are at different angles?

I used this link provided:

Since I had a different image, I generated control points using cpselect. After I used the control points I made, the image did not align. How do I generate a transform which can be applicable to any image?

Go through the following link that has example of aligning images before and after damage and the issue resolution as well.

Feel free to reach out , if the issue persists.
Also you can look at some examples of image processing toolbox.
