How can I convert .p files prior to MATLAB 7.5 into the ones from the following version

Hello
I have some .p files which were generated with a MATLAB version prior to MATLAB 7.5. Now i have to use these files and I can not with my current MATLAB version. Is there any chance of converting theme without having the .m files? I mean, convert them from the old pcode file to the new one. .

It is not possible to "upgrade" p-code. Possible alternatives are to contact the author, to see if they have a newer version, or installing an older version of MATLAB.
(I realize that these are not very appealing options.)
