CD/DVD Drive question

I'm trying to create a GUI which will have push buttons appear when a CD/DVD is inserted into the drive. Is there a way to sense when a disk is inserted into the drive in Matlab and also, is there are way to programmically eject that disk after it is inserted?

MATLAB does not provide any methods for detecting CD/DVD insertion, nor for ejecting a CD/DVD.
If you are using MS Windows, then you could potentially use ActiveX; https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/directshow/eject-method
