Installer software runs when I try to open a MATLAB script

1 次查看(过去 30 天)
I uninstalled and reinstalled MATLAB after encountering problems with it. In between uninstalling and reinstalling, I opened my scripts using WordPad on Microsoft 10. Thereafter, I changed the default app back to MATLAB, but now when I try to click the scripts from the File Explorer to view the scripts in MATLAB, the installation software runs instead of MATLAB itself. The files can be opened if I open them directly from MATLAB, but not when I open it from the File Explorer.

Hey Hui Ying,
I understand that you are unable to open the files in MATLAB editor through the file explorer but they are getting opened through MATLAB .
This type of issue is generated due to multiple installation and uninstallation of the MATLAB versions. If you have multiple versions of MATLAB installed, and you've associated a file with a MATLAB version that is not the most recently installed, when you try to open the file from file explorer , it tries to open the version of MATLAB associated with the it and since you might have uninstalled that version it is trying to install it again.
In this case , you may try performing clean installation of the MATLAB : How do I perform a clean installation of MATLAB on a Windows system? - (mathworks.com)
