How to show multiple scaled axis on a plot?

Hello,
I want to create plots with multiple linked x and / or y axes: for example, a plot time --> distance should show a timescale in units of seconds [at bottom] and another one in hours [at the top]; the distance should be in meter [left side] and inch [right side]. Obviously, the axes need to be linked, so that a zoom or moving the plot will affect both axes similarly.
So far, I was only able to use a workaround with two plots (using yyaxis left / yyaxis right) and manually setting the limits (ylim), but as soon as one zooms or moves the plot, the "link" is messed up again.
Thanks for advice, Dan

Deleted my answer as it was obviously not what you were looking for. The solution in this thread should be useful for you ( link ).
