Merging edges of two cylindrical solids and correct mesh.

Dear All, I have to join two edges, you can see the particular inside the solid red line in my above attached picture edges E1 and E5, for two solid cylindrical cells, C2 and C1, of different radius and heights, both made by two different material M2 and M1 respectivelly (either C1 and C2 was created by a CAD as .stl format file, I have "manually" linked into a unique file and imported in a script file as .stl format): I have the problem that the nodes of mesh on the previous edges are separated. What can I do to solve this during exporting ? there is a way to have only one edge? Thank you very much Best regards Simone

My matlab tells me that importGeometry is a function in the Partial Differential Equation Toolbox (which I don't have), so I assume the given code is actually matlab.

Ohh...in my case it is says undefined...I thought it is not a part of MATLAB. :p. So, I too don't have PDE toolbox then.
