Matlab Models Incompatibility Issues

I own an older copy of Matlab, Version 5.3.1 (R11.1). Meanwhile, I have accumulated some models, from previous acquaintances, that, when I go to open or run them, result in an error message that they were generated with a newer version of Matlab, e.g., Version 6.5 (R13).
I can't afford to upgrade my version of Matlab at present. Thus, is there an inexpensive way that I can translate my models to be compatible with my older version of Matlab? Is there any on-line "freebee" that I can use?
I seem to recall that Matlab allows you to "save models down" from newer versions to older versions of Matlab. Meanwhile, when I open some of my models that are compatible with my present version and do a "Save As", I do not see an option to save "down". Why?
Thank you.
