setting text/background colors of command window to be different from editor?

MATLAB R2010b (7.11.0.584, OSX 10.6.7)) allows users to set the text and background color of the command window and editor. But, as far as I can see, the preferences pane does not allow one to set the text/color combination of the editor to be different from that of the command window.
For example, I would like to set the background of the command window to black, and the background of the editor to dark green. Doing this will make it immediately clear which window I'm writing in at any given moment (helpful when repeatedly switching back and forth between editor and command window, such as when testing a new script or function).
Is it possible to use a text/color combination for the editor, that is separate from that of command window? How?
Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,
It is my understanding that you want to set different text and background color for the Command Window and Editor. However, MATLAB does not currently support setting different text and background colors for different panels individually.
Although, you can customize the text and background colour for all panels using the following steps:
Hope this helps!
