Why is the base frame of rigid transform always allocated on the middle part of the solid?

Hello everyone thank u for reading this question.i am a noob in matlab and i am learning to use matlab simulation.In multi body simulation everytime the base frame is the middle section of the solid and the follower frame is translated in the rare end of the solid .Can anybody tell me the reason behind it?
