Difficult. I cannot distinguish more than 18 (sometimes 19) trees in the 24 tree sets.
The "cedar" tree set looks suspiciously like Thuja Occidentalis, known by various names including several involving "white cedar". Those are actually cypress family rather than cedar. That variety of trees has a tendency to grow either two or three so close together as to appear to be a single tree, with the trunks growing less than an inch apart and each of the trunks only growing branches on one side until the trunks separate near the crown. Above the surface, the situation effectively cannot be told apart from bushing (one has to examine the roots to see.) Indeed, Wikipedia lists the Thuja genus under the category of bushes, so you could have a dual-tree case immediately next to a bush case, for the same species. Counting the number of trees accurately in such a situation is going to be very difficult!

Alas, I seem to be getting Internal Server Error when I go to look at the images now.

Not sure how I missed this 3 years ago, but here's my answer to a later question on the same subject: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/217533#answer_179624
