How can I read the value of a pointer variant type which is passed by reference?

Hi, I want to get the returned value from a method of a COM object. The signature of the method is as follows:

ReadOutputImage = Variant(Pointer) 
ReadOutputImage(handle, int32, int32, ImageDataTypeConstants, Variant(Pointer))

the method shall return the raed value inside "Variant(Pointer)".

How can I produce a pointer and how can I get the value of a pointer?
