How to go back to the previous figure to edit?

Hi,
I have figures fh1 and fh2. I want to create fh1 first, and then create fh2, but after that to go back to edit fh1. How can I do that?
I tried below code, but it doesn't work (it modied fh2 instead of fh1).
Many thanks!
fh1=figure();
title('001')
fh2=figure();
title('002')
getimage(fh1);
title('003')

figure(fh1)
will make fh1 the active figure again.
However there are lot of different ways to accidentally lose focus. I suggest you read https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/317181-non-deterministic-behavior-with-multiple-figures#answer_247493
