Problems installing a toolbox from the Matlab interface.

I've been trying to download and install one of matlab's toolbox from the add-ons page, but the installation fails everytime, giving me this error:
I've installed Matlab correctly on Linux (Ubuntu 18.04) on the default path the installer told me to install it, which was: usr/local (as you can see in the picture). I think the problem lies in the fact that, in order to write in that directory, I had to install Matlab with root privileges and now, as it tries to dowload the toolbox in the same directory, it fails to do so because it does not have those privileges. I've also tried to run the program as root, but it does this instead:
What can i do?

For this purpose, do not use the add-ons page to do the install. Instead, use the installer, which you would sudo to use. The installer knows how to set the proper ownerships and permissions.
