First call no problem second call an error message.

I have no problem executing these lines. Can you please indicate which version of MATLAB, you are using.

I cannot reproduce the error with R2012a 64bit on Windows7.

check in your folder if a file named "datenumber" does'nt exist? if yes, rename it, restart matlab, i think it will be ok. or instead using a variable datenumber, change it.
