a=[1 2;3 4]; is 2x2 double array % double is a class
a =
1 2
3 4
if you have 3 matrix
a=[1 2;3 4], b=[3 5;6 7]; c=[7 8;9 8] % for example
% you can put them in one array 2x2x3
x(:,:,1)=a;
x(:,:,2)=b;
x(:,:,3)=c;
%and the result will be
x(:,:,1) =
1 2
3 4
x(:,:,2) =
3 5
6 7
x(:,:,3) =
7 8
9 8

"What is a M,N... double array"
...it's an array of doubles, DP values
had me confused for a moment there, myself
