Unable to add any folders to path after downloading MATLAB R2019a

I just downloaded the latest version of Matlab (R2019a), and upon using for the first time, I'm unable to add any folders to the path or even click into them. I'm also unable to load the files through the 'open file' button.
I'd appreciate any insight into this issue. Thanks in advanced.
