¿Como funciona el plot de 2 matrices?

tengo estas dos matrices que al darle plot(xb,yb) me generan la figura que quiero.
xb=[9 9 3 3 2 12 7 7
6 12 6 2 4 10 10 4]
yb=[2 2 3 3 5 5 8 8
3 5 3 5 9 9 9 9]
pero quiero convertirla en una sola matriz de 2x8 asi:
P=[9 2
6 3
3 3
2 5
4 9
7 8
10 9
12 5];
para darle plot asi:
C=[1 2;2 3;3 4;4 5;5 6;6 7;7 8;8 1];
plot(P(C'),P(C'+size(P,1)),'-r','LineWidth', 2);
