how to make a error management section model

Hi I Have a model of my controller.
I need to add a diagnostic section, that if some inputs fails for some flag reased up I would be able to setup an error managment section like automotive OBD section for troubleshooting.
I am looking for some sexample that I can get some hint.
I could not find anything on web searching
please advice
