Matlab freezes. Can't scroll through editor. Cursor wont move

If it always happens like that, despite giving your computer plenty of time to get done with virus scans and backups and whatever else it might be doing, then call tech support.

After online search, the problem was the length of the code.
Last night, I broke the main program into several smaller *.m files.
So far that seems to be the problem.
I should have known better!
