To whom it may concern,

I am having problems during matlab 2019a on ubuntu 18.4LTS. Diagnosis information say that:

Diagnostic Information:

Feature: MATLAB

License path: /root/.matlab/R2019a_licenses:/usr/local/MATLAB/R2019a/licenses/license.dat:/usr/local/MATLAB/R2019a

/licenses/license_carreira-ON_40810363_R2019a.lic

Licensing error: -9,57.

I have made all the correct procedures contained in Matlab instructions guide information. What I shoul do to solve this problem?

Most common cause: you activated against a different username than you run with. It needs to match your whoami information.

The single most common username to accidentally incorrectly activate against on Linux appears to be root
