What are the algorithms I can use for this image to get the text from the image ? The visibility of letters is very poor. Please help me.

Hi, the image quality is definitely poor. If you have control over acquisition, you could keep the lights at a slanted angle and take images maintaining parallality between the image plane and stone surface, also increase exposure to saturate the surface pixels while creating a good contrast between darker text regions. Then we can try for edge detection and minimal morphological post processing to generate raw data for OCR. This of course is a trial and error based approach and doesn't guarentee success.
