What is the mechanism for updating the string in fprintf() ?
You can use sprintf() or compose() to construct strings or character vectors to pass to listdlg()
However, a "live" listdlg() effectively cannot be updated, because listdlg() always starts 'modal'. (There are hacks that could do it, such as using a timer object, but not through user interaction.)
