Can not assign data for each cell with xlswrite

Hi All,
I have a vector and I am trying to write the data into excel, I used xlswrite, which seems working fine, but when I try to assign the xlRange , I mean A2, and so on.. does not working ... For your reference , I am using Matlab 2016a with MAC

clear all; clc;
x=[1 2 3 4 5]'
xlswrite('filename',x,'Sheet1','A2')
xlswrite('filename','x','Sheet1','A1')
%%I would like my output in excel to be started from A2, and A1 is the name of the data...Also, it's not working to assign in sheet
