"EXLS3 Bluetooth IMU" cannot be connected using the Bluetooth interface in Windows 10

When I try to connect to my "EXLS3 Bluetooth IMU" sensor using the Bluetooth interface in Windows 10, I get the following error:
Error using icinterface/fopen (line 83) Unsuccesful open: Cannot connect the device. Possible reasons are another application is connected or the device is not available.
This seems to be working fine in Mac.

We do not have access to this device to investigate, but this is likely an issue with the Bluetooth communication libraries that MATLAB is using to connect to the device.
As a workaround, you can:
Use the serialport function in MATLAB R2019b to communicate directly to the bluetooth sensor:
s = serialport(<COMPort>, <BaudRate>)
The COM port number can be obtained from the Bluetooth device properties. Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers, right click on the device, select properties and go to Hardware tab. Confirm that on the services tab, SPP profile is enabled and note the COM port number listed. Please refer to the attached screenshots for more info.
In releases prior to R2019b use the MATLAB serial function:
s = serial(<COMPort>, <BaudRate>)
